Parlin Dentist Rewards 17-year-old Youth for Doing Good Deeds

Parlin, NJ – South Amboy Parlin dentist, Dr. Mariana Blagoev rewarded a local youth for her good deeds performed. Blagoev had been running a contest to reward local youths for a few years. She called this the “Good Deed” contest. Dr. Blagoev launched the Do A Good Deed Contest with a hope to give youths a chance to look at their actions. The essay contest was open to any youth 18 years of age and under to inspire youths to perform good deeds and submit an essay about what they have accomplished. This time, the winning essay went to 17-year-old Jacqueline Taggart, who was awarded the grand prize – a brand new laptop. Taggart, from South Amboy, was asked by her former history teacher to do volunteer work at the Elk Lodge. She served dinner to the veterans while keeping the veterans company. At the end of the night she said, “I wanted to do something without expecting a return, yet I did get something back, the satisfaction of knowing I made someone happy by simply being there, helping and talking to people who helped protect our country.” South Amboy mayor Fred Henry was present for the...

Parlin dentist encourages service to others – My Central Jersey

SAYREVILLE – Dr. Mariana Blagoev, a dentist in the Parlin section of the borough, wants to encourage youth in her area to do good deeds in the community, so she is conducting a video contest for all children and young people, up to age 18. Videos must be submitted by May 15th, and the winner will be announced in early May. “We have just started the contest,” Blagoev said. “There are lots of positive responses from parents and kids. We are looking forward to see what will come in.” Blagoev’s philosophy, based on classic conditioning — a basic psychological theory — is to reward children and youth for kind, compassionate behavior so they will continue to do it into adulthood. “Rewarding good behavior can shape a child’s character for life” Blagoev said. In the The Good Deed Video Contest, she’s encouraging young people to tell a story about a good deed they’ve done and explain what motivated them to do that. “The deeds can be either small or large, from helping someone crossing the street to feeding the homeless,” Blagoev said in a media statement. “The contestants are encouraged to be creative, not only in their choice of good deed but also in their video essays.” When pressed about how the videos will be judged, Blagoev added, “I think what we are looking for is the sincerity of the good deed being done, rather than the magnitude. Good deeds are good deeds. They come naturally from the heart of the person performing them. Thus we are not judging by the quality of the video, nor the size of the action. We are looking at simply the youth volunteering to do something out of his or her heart.” Videos are not being judged by the age of the videographer, either. “Because each person expresses their action differently, we are not looking at the ‘skills’ of the presentation as the primary criteria,” Blagoev said. Blagoev hopes the good deeds that are going on in our community will get more attention as a result of the contest, bringing more focus to the positiveness of the youngsters. “We are awarding prizes. But to me, all of these youths are winners,” she said. Children are urged to join the Good Deed Video Contest by visiting Blagoev’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/BrightSmilesDentalOffice or website brightsmilesdental.com. The winner will receive a new laptop. “It’s kind of a cliché, but it’s true. Children are our future,” Blagoev said. “If we can start early in helping these little ones choose between right and wrong, then the possibilities are...

Parlin Dentist Cures Hunger by Giving Dental Service to Locals

Parlin dentist Dr. Mariana Blagoev is helping people improve their dental health by lowering their dental bill and raising helping local food pantry. A report from The New York Times revealed the trend of Americans delaying health treatments even if they are insured. The reason behind this is an economic reason: many insured could not afford the co-payments. Dr. Blagoev who is a practicing dentist in the Parlin area knows that this delay of treatment usually leads to bigger health problems. Delayed dental care can easily lead to gum diseases which then could cause weakened immune problems, leading to heart, lung and liver diseases. Even pregnant mothers could have still-born or pre-mature babies due to gum diseases. At the same time, how could a person see a dentist if he or she could not even afford three square meals a day? Dr Blagoev explained, “It is a growing problem. Food demands at the local food pantries have increased and yet food donations have decreased.” “Among the hungry in America are 16 million children. This is very alarming.” said Dr Blagoev, dentist Ralin. With some long thinking, she came out with an idea to help in both areas: help Americans with dental care and also assist the local food pantries. Dr Blagoev is encouraging her patients to come to her dental office and get dental cleaning, exam and x-rays for only $39. And all of the $39 will go to the local food bank at First Presbyterian Church of South Amboy. When asked why she would give such a discount and donate all the collected money, Dr Blagoev said, “Local communities are strong not because of money but because of the free spirit of helping one’s neighbors. In a troubled economy that affects many Americans, if I could get the public to help the hungry families while getting their basic dental work done, why not?” The campaign spearheaded by Dr. Blagoev to benefit people in need of dental care as well as providing help to the local food bank will end on February 10th, 2015. “I would like to ask everyone who now knows about our program to spread the word to their friends and neighbors. The more people know about this effort, the more needy families can receive aid.” Parlin NJ dentist Dr. Blagoev concluded.   Here is how to participate: Request your Voucher for $39 Dental Cleaning, Exam & X-rays by filling out the form below. Together we can help the needy people in our community!   Office Location: 1145 Bordentown Avenue Suite 7 Parlin, N.J....

Parlin Dentist Rewards Local Youth For Doing A Good Deed

Parlin dentist, Dr. Mariana Blagoev believes that many good deeds done each day are going unrewarded. “We all know that negativity will not improve a situation, but complimenting or rewarding a job well-done will actually prompt more of those good activities,” says Dr. Blagoev. She decided to run an essay contest, “Do A Good Deed,” open to any youth 18 years old and under, with the grand prize being a brand-new laptop. The winner was Kevin Gay, 14, who attends South Amboy HS, and had helped victims of Hurricane Sandy when it struck. He spent 4 days unloading trailers with ice and water for people to come and pick up. At the end, he said, “I helped so many people and I felt good about myself. I like to help people and see the appreciation in their faces.” According to Dr. Blagoev, “There is no greater joy for a parent than knowing that their children are on the right path. I am happy that we are able to inspire youths to focus on the spirit of helping and giving.” The contest was one of the many events Dr. Blagoev has done for her community. In August, she held a free Emergency Dental Day, where she opened her office and treated the underserved in the community at no cost. Dr. Blagoev said that, “People helping people have been one of the prominent strengths of our country. I love to serve my community in more ways than just dentistry.” Details of Dr. Blagoev’s other community event, including a Free Dental Day she held this year can be found at:...
