Pediatric DentistryParlin, NJ
Here at Dr. Blagoev’s dental office, we strive to make your child’s first visit to the dentist an enjoyable and positive experience.
We ask parents to discuss the upcoming visit with the child in a non-frightening way avoiding words such as “needles”, “drills”, “shots”, and ”pain” as we use different terminology.
Our goal is to gain the child’s trust, to help them overcome their apprehension, build confidence and make their future visit a comfortable and pleasant experience. We look forward to working with you and your child.
Dr Mariana Blagoev loves her young patients and loves helping them to get on the right track of good dental health.
We designate time to explain, show, and let the child touch and do. We use language that explains to the child what we do in a none frightening, game like, positive way. We welcome parents to stay in the room during the first examination to discuss oral hygiene, nutrition, eruption pattern, possible need for orthodontic treatment, abnormal habits such as thumb sucking, tongue-thrusting, etc., and answer all questions that parents may have.
We generally start seeing children at age 3.
Dental Exam and Cleanings
We recommend dental exam and cleaning every six months.
Regular cleaning helps keep the gums healthy and the teeth cavity-free. Fluoride treatment is important for the teeth to insure extra protection against cavities in a child’s developing stage.
Teeth with deep grooves, that are prone to develop cavities, can be protected by applying a protective coating called sealant usually between ages 3-14.
Cavities can be restored using either amalgam or composite (white) fillings. When teeth are affected by deeper caries or infection pediatric root canal treatment or extraction may be indicated.
