Making Your Child’s First Visit a Happy One
At Dr. Blagoev’s office, we want your child’s first visit to be something they actually look forward to. We take the time to explain, show, and let kids touch and try things out, using friendly, game-like language so nothing feels intimidating. You’re welcome to stay right in the room with your child the whole time.
During that first visit, we cover everything that matters: oral hygiene, nutrition guidance, how teeth come in, whether braces might be needed down the road, and habits like thumb sucking or tongue thrusting. Our goal is to set your child up for a lifetime of healthy, confident smiles.

We generally start seeing children around age 3.

Exams and Cleanings for Kids
We recommend an exam and cleaning every six months. Regular cleanings keep gums healthy and teeth cavity-free — it’s the easiest way to head off bigger problems later.

Sealants and Fluoride:
Extra Protection for Growing Smiles
Friendly Introduction
Fluoride adds extra protection while teeth are still developing. It strengthens enamel and helps prevent cavities, especially in children whose adult teeth are just coming in.
The application is quick, comfortable, and provides lasting benefits for your child’s dental health.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are a protective coating applied to teeth with deep grooves, typically between ages 6 and 14. These grooves are where cavities most often start in children’s molars. The sealant creates a smooth, easy-to-clean surface that dramatically reduces the risk of decay. It’s simple, painless, and highly effective.
Fillings and Restorative Care for Children
If your child develops a cavity, we offer both standard and tooth-colored (composite) fillings. Many parents prefer tooth-colored fillings because they blend naturally with the tooth and are just as durable as traditional options.
For teeth that are more deeply affected by decay or damage, we may recommend additional treatment or, in some cases, removal. Before we proceed with any treatment, we’ll walk you through every option, explain what to expect, and answer all of your questions.
Our approach is always calm, clear, and focused on what’s best for your child’s long-term oral health. Learn more about our restorative dentistry services.
How We Keep Kids Calm and Comfortable
Our entire approach is designed to build trust, not fear. We use friendly terminology instead of clinical words, go at your child’s pace, and make sure they feel safe and in control. Visit by visit, we’re building confidence so that future appointments feel easy and routine.
